Learning Objectives

Working across curricula, students will research areas of food insecurity and conduct experiments to design a greenhouse (types of building materials, amount of light, type of seeds, etc.) and test water quality for hydroponic development. They will use data they’ve collected to calculate crop yield and determine the number of people who could be fed. When complete, students will create a video to share their solutions with others. Science, technology, engineering, math, social studies and English will be used to research and design solutions.
